I was built, like my sister 99 6101, in 1914, by Henschel (12 879 and 12 880), and we were both tested by the Rail Engineers Regiment of Wurttemberg near Drei Annen Hohne, on the Harzquerbahn.
The NWE could obtain my sister in 1917 (NWE 6) and I could come and join her in 1920 (NWE 7).
My sister 99 6101 has a super-heater, not myself... but, except some differences in accordance to these specialties, we are twins...
All the figures about me and my sister are in "technical data of the steam locomotives of the Harz: the non-articulated / rigid-frame locomotives" ().
During many years, we were both used at the head of trains of standard-gauge-cars transporters as well as for the shunting in Wernigerode.
Then we came to Gernrode, on the Selketalbahn, and I worked on the material trains for the rebuilding of the Strassberg - Stiege line in 1983-1984, and I even hauled passenger trains...
Since 1987, I am stored "dead".
But I am not so old..., and I could be put back into operation, if possible on my "home" network, i.e. "the Harz", and specially on the Selketalbahn...
But I need receive rather extensive and expensive maintenance...
Well.. if you want to help me, you should send a few Deutsche Marks or Francs Français / Francs Suisses or british £ ...
And then, within some time, I will be able to go back into operation, probably on the line that I specially favor, the Selketalbahn, where the landscape is so nice and pleasant, and also on the whole large Harz network, were my sister 99 6101, who was luckier than me, is still active and well !"
And, of course, keep yourself informed, read the "a chronicle of the 99 6102" (only in )
