The spectacular railway line: Niš - Zajecar in the valley of the river Svrljiški Timok, between Svrljig and Knjazevac
in the East Serbian region Timocka Krajina. The section Prahovo Pristanište - Knjazevac was opened for traffic in 1914 and
the section Knjazevac - Crveni Krst (suburb of Niš) in 1922. A lot of foreign tourists say that Nis - Zajecar is the most
interesting railway line in Serbia.

There are some 40 tunnels on it, especialy on Nis-Knjazevac section. Here you can see a signal on small station in Nis direction. Note the two signaling systems on this line: here is a Siemens system amd from Knjazevac to Yajecar there is old Westinhghaus system which still works!
