Various industrial firms and other organisations have registered private diesel shunters to run onto Railtrack lines (the national network). One such operator is the Manchester Ship Canal Company, which operates these Sentinel diesel-hydraulic shunters around the Trafford Park industrial estate in south-west Manchester. Their lines connect with the national network near Trafford Park station. The locomotives are officially numbered 01557-01560 for Railtrack purposes, but actually carry MSC identities 3004, DH23, DH24, DH26.
