National Coal Board North Durham Area No.88 (Thomas Hill 135c, built 1964) shunts at Derwenthaugh sidings in November 1970. This loco was rebuilt from Sentinel steam loco 9584, originally built 1955- the previous Derwenthaugh No.88. It was scrapped in 1981.

National Coal Board, South Durham Area No.67 BETA (North British 27717, built 1957) at South Hetton Colliery in 1979. This 520hp loco lasted until 1985.

National Coal Board North Yorkshire Area diesel Hunslet 6685, built 1968, shunts MGR wagons at Prince of Wales Colliery, Pontefract, in October 1975. The loco seems to have bben scrapped before 1989.

National Coal Board North Durham area No.501 (Hunslet 6612, built 1965) at Derwenthaugh Cokeworks near Gateshead in County Durham, 1973. Boundary changes moved this location into Tyne & Wear in 1974. The cokeworks has since closed.
