Reisseckbahn (600 mm gauge). Here you can see a steep track which
connects the lower line to a second system (with no public trains).
A winch is used to move cars over this incline.
Read more about this at the Funimag page. 2004-09-06 |
Another view of the incline track connecting the two railway systems
at Reisseck.

This is the beginning of the upper rail system of the Reißeckbahn,
connected to the lower (public) system with an incline track (with
a winch). Due to fog the tunnel entrance is not visible.
For more information about this system, see: Funimag. 2004-09-07 |

Reisseckbahn (600 mm gauge), snow clearing engine No. 2240 at Schoberboden.
This is the exchange station between the upper funicular and the railway
system, the big crane can be used to transfer loads between funicular and
train.

Reisseckbahn (600 mm gauge), snow clearing engine No. 2406 together with
a red "summer car" (technical spare) at the station Reißeck-Hotel.
This is the end station of the public line, but in background you can
see an incline track connecting to another non-public network ....

coupled between the two cab cars of the regular passenger
train.

Reisseckbahn, Schoberboden station - the end of the narrow gauge railway
system (foreground) and also the upper end of the three-section funicular
(background). The brick wall in background is a monument to those who
lost their life when building the hydroelectric power system.

Schoberspitze tunnel.

Reisseckbahn (600 mm gauge). The train at Reisseck-Hotel station.
Passengers get into the train from inside the hotel/restaurant building.

The Reisseckbahn train with car 1 in front arrives at Schoberboden
station. The train consists of two cab cars with a diesel locomotive
in the middle. Car 1 has a small cargo platform in front. On the
left you can see the 10 km/h speed restriction in the station (speed
is up to 30 km/h on the narrow gauge railway).
For more information about the narrow gauge train, read the Funimag article. 2004-09-06 |

The Reisseckbahn train seen from car 2 end at Schoberboden.
On the left you can see a bit of the upper funicular car.
This station is mainly to change from the funicular to the
train or back - I'm not sure if there are any hiking trails
from Schoberboden that make sense ....
