Taksim Square in northwestern Istanbul, Turkey. The stairs to the intermediate level above the Metro station Taksim can be seen next to the "M" sign. Taksim station is underground and has central platforms, similar to the other stations along to 4. Levent, the northern terminus. Currently Taksim is the southern terminus, although works are underway to extend this to Aksaray further south.

Currently the fare for a single ride on the metro is YTL 1,10 paid as a token, or YTL 1,00 with the Akbil (note these are 2006 prices).

Behind is the historical tram terminus, which still operates up to the "Tünel" funicular.
