Istanbul Token for the Bus, Metro, Hafif Metro, Tramway and Ferry Boats
This is an Istanbul token for the bus, metro, hafif-metro to the airport, modern tramway and ferry boats. If you do not have a Akbil device, or have one with less than YTL 1.00 remaining, then you may have to buy tokens like these. They cost YTL 1.10 each, and are available from token booths near tram stops, metro stations and ferry boat stops. However if you want to ride the Tünel funicular, you need to buy a special token for YTL 0.90 (90 kuruş). These are smaller than the currently shown token, about the size of a 10 kuruş coin. The Taksim/Tünel tramway requires a ticket, available at the box office next to the upper station, and costs YTL 1.30 (price reduced with the Akbil). The same applies for the Moda tram in Kadiköy (on the Asian side). All prices valid as of February 2006. © 2006 Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |
