sunny further northwest, it's started to rain later on.

S-TRVF 91 74 000 0009-2, Rc6 1331 of Trafikverket, used by
Vy in train 95 Narvik to Luleå. This is one of 60
locomotives (1323 to 1382) originally built 1982 to 1986 as Rc5
(135 km/h), between 1992 and 1995 they were all rebuilt to Rc6
(160 km/h), in addition to the 40 locomotives built directly
as Rc6 (1383 to 1422).
The handling of UIC numbers in Sweden is rather uninspired
and has no relation to the internal number.

S-TRVF 91 74 000 0009-2, Rc6 1331 of Trafikverket, used by
Vy in train 95 Narvik to Luleå. Of the 100 Rc6 locomotives,
14 went to SSRT to be rented to other companies and got a
grey and red livery. Since 2020 these are running for the
Norwegian company Vy, while SJ operates trains on Norway's
north-south line.

On Saturday 28.04.01, 21 members of the Norwegian Railway Club made a day trip to Gothenburg; the second largest town in Sweden and 357 kilometres south of Oslo. Caused by bridge repairments 90 kilometres north of Gothenburg, the trains from Oslo had to end their journey in the little place Öxnered. Then, a short bus journey followed, and another train could bring the travellers the last 75 kilometres to Gothenburg. The picture shows how busy Öxnered can appear on a usually peaceful day!
On this picture, Swedish State Railways Rc5.1339 is to be seen in front of a northbound train, while Norwegian coaches of class B3 are at right. These coaches are 38 years old and usually not used in long-distance trains; not because of their lack of comfort, but because they don't allow speeds higher than 130 kilometres per hour.
