Trafikverket BC4 5433 (S-TRVF 50 74 597 3008-5). In 1985-1986
Kalmar built 31 couchette cars with 9 six-berth compartments
and 2 toilets, entrance doors on one end only, number series
5426 to 5440 and 5466 to 5481. First painted brown, then
black/blue, today 20 BC4 are grey with red doors and belong
to Trafikverket (formerly SSRT) and were rented to TKAB,
Veolia, SJ and Vy. 11 BC4 belong to SJ and are painted black.

Comparison between the angular 1980s design of the
SJ couchette coach

(left, with sliding doors) and the rounded 1960s design of the sleeping
coach WL1 No.
5016 (right, with slam doors), about twenty years older. You can also
see the differences in livery - the BC4 has a blue stripe above the
windows, the WL1 is all black to the roof edge.

31 of them were built 1985/1986 by Kalmar Verkstads AB, today they
are operated by SJ and connex. They have 9 six-bed compartments, 2
toilets and 2 washrooms, doors are on one end only.

Couchette car type BC4

Almost all connex rolling stock is still in SJ colours.
