The second entrance at "Republica" metro station at the end of Titan railway station. As you can see it isn't in a good shape at all and it's been deserted for quite a time now.

Entrance to the Piata Romana metrou station (M2) in Bucharest
This is the entry to the Piata Romana metrou station in Bucharest. This is for line M2 between Depoul IPMB in the south and Pipera in the north. Like Piata Victoriei for the upper M2 platform, Piata Romana has side platforms. Unlike Piata Victoriei, there is no transfer to any other metrou line here although walking towards the traffic circle there are several places to board connecting trolley busses. Unguarded rail crossing at Republica in Bucharest
Just above the "Republica" Metrou station, there is a non-electrified cargo rail crossing (i.e. with an electric flashing light, but not for the train line itself). Taken Tuesday 14 February 2006. © 2006 Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |

Aviatorilor station, southwestern entry
Aviatorilor Metrou station on the M2 line. The station has three levels, one between the two southern entrances, the other of which is on the opposite side of this road, the second level is the ticket level where tickets can be purchased, as well as snacks, cigarettes and newspapers/periodicals. This is also where the entry gates are located. The third level is the actual central platform where the trains arrive. There are no escalators at the south end. I didn't take note of the north exit but I suspect there might have been an escalator. The next station to the north on M2 is Pipera, the current northern terminus, and Piata Victoriei to the south, transfer to lines 1 and 3. Taken Tuesday 14 February 2006. It was still cloudy that day but at least the snowstorm from the previous night had stopped. © 2006, 2007 Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |
