CFR - Co'Co' class 41
CFR 42-0302-2 in Bucuresti-Nord station, 08/05/1998.
This is the only class 42 high speed locomotive of the CFR. It received
its 200 km/h geared bogies from the loco nr. 122. In fact, those bogies
are only mounted for tests, and it usually runs with 160 km/h gears.
In 1998 it was tested with Schunk WBL 85 pantographs (similar to SBB
Re 460's ones).

In the bustling North Bucharest railway station, an Inter-City
Express train to Constanta is awaiting for departure. The train is
composed of a Class 42 electric locomotive, 6 Romanian-built cars under Eurofima
license (A11), (B11). These cars are air-conditioned and have a top speed of 200 km/h. 5 cars are 2nd class
and 1 first class. There is also a dining car. Such trains connect Bucharest and five other cities at an
average speed of 160 km/h. Unlike the InterCity trains, these only run twice a day.
