Dej Triaj Yard, Dej, Romania
S.N.T.F.M. ,, C.F.R. Marfa" S.A. 20.022 Malaxa built locomotive, with old number format (some got new numbers, beeing registred in class 95; some are still in use today, even if they are almost 70 years old). It was used mainly for shunting, but also for small passengers trains on short branch lines. It was preserved and restored by the yard's employees and it's displayed inside the yard. The preserved locomotives (steam and diesel) can be visited (and photographed) by anyone for free during week days. 96-0001-6 pushing a 2100 hp diesel engine on Sibiu depot's turning plate.
The picture shows the huge power that class 96 shunters have. The shunter has a weight of only
20 tons, yet is capable of pushing a 117 tons diesel.

Power: 180 hp.

CFR 95-0043-0 in Bucuresti Triaj depot, 28/10/1999.
These old shunters date back to the 30's but are still used in depots.
Diesel engine: Ganz license, MG 120, 6 cylinders in line.
Power: 120 hp.
Top speed: 55 km/h.

This is a diesel hydraulic locomotive LDH 30 used for shunting duties on standard gauge. Some technical characteristics: Axle formula: B; Weight: 27 tons; Installed power (UIC): 300 HP (224 Kw); Diesel engine type: 1240-VS-DTA; Hydromechanical transmission: Clark licence.
