The first class 60 diesel locomotive in Romania. The first modern diesel engine built for CFR was 060-DA-001. It was built in 1959 and is a part of the batch of six diesel locomotives produced for CFR, in Switzerland. Another group of 10 locomotives was built, under license in Romania by "Electroputere". According to a catalog of "Electroputere" factory, the first 10 locomotives where built in 1960. The last class 60 diesel locomotive was built in 1981 and has the number 60-1407. The total number of diesel engines built for CFR reaches 1407 pieces. Another 160 pieces where built for industrial entreprises. Also a number of 422 engines where built for Bulgarian railways (BDZ) and 130 for Polish railways (PKP).
