The Class 333 of RENFE-GL on duty since Madrid had just been replaced with a Class 1900 (1944) of CP.

The Trenhotel "Lusitania" is the only passenger service to pass through Valencia de Alcántara and to run on the 95-km cross-border segment between Cáceres and Marvaõ.
