In thirties, Poland faced the problem of heavy express German trains from Berlin, passing through the terithory of Poland to Konigsberg (St. Petersburg). The solution was the new class of steam Pu29 locomotive. But 'freshly constructed' Pu made only in triplicate, had occured to be too heavy for the railroads near Chojnice and too long for most of local turn-tables, so it was replaced by Pt31 class few years later. Picture shows only one Pu29, that was found in Poland after IInd World War and now seems to be the pearl at Koscierzyna Steam-Depot. Picture was taken on May 05, 1997.
