With a service weight of 13.2 t this was NSB's smallest steam locomotive, today it is the oldest preserved narrow gauge locomotive in Norway. Norsk jernbanemuseum, Hamar, 2023-07-18. |
NSB type XII 7, built 1900 by Thunes Mekaniske Værksted as its first locomotive and used until 1944 on the line Egersund - Flekkefjord. 1067 mm gauge. Maximum speed 55 km/h (forward) and 35 km/h (backward), service weight 32.6 t. With the big headlight and wooden cab it has a rather American appearance, the only thing missing is a big cow (moose?) catcher. Norsk jernbanemuseum, Hamar, 2023-07-18. |

Steam locomotive UHB No. 2 "Urskog" built 1895 by
Hartmann/Chemnitz for the 750 mm gauge Urskog-Hølandsbanen
(UHB). Along with No. 1 "Eidsverket" it was one of the two first
locomotives of the line, operating until 1954. NSB took over the
line in 1945 listing the locomotives under type XXVII. When the
line was closed in 1960 the locomotive, along with three coaches,
went to the Hamar railway museum where it operates regularly.
Since 2010 it is fired with wood pellets.
