Intercity train of class 73B passes Holmlia on its way from Oslo to Halden 26.02.03. Since 04.01.03, these emus have been serving the majority of the connections between the two cities. The other connections are served by locomotive-hauled trains, three of them composed of Swedish rolling stock.

The indoor facilities of the new intercity trains of class 73B are quite similar to the 73 ”Signatur” class, but since they are meant for shorter distances, the bistro compartment has been substituted with automats offering hot and cold drinks and snacks.

The new Intercity Emus of class 73b are technically similar to the class 73a (Signatur), but instead of restaurant facilities, there are self-service automats offering hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches.
Class 73b went into service in regional trains between Kristiansand and Stavanger in southwestern Norway in the 1. half of 2002. However, this picture was taken in Fredrikstad 09.11.02 when the new train was introduced to the travellers on the "Østfold line" between Oslo and the Swedish border in southeast.
