NOHAB diesel locomotives class Di3a and an electric locomotive of class
El16 in the station of Dombås on 10/07/95. These locomotives
(similar to the Danish MX/MY and Belgian 52/53/54 classes) operate the
local trains between Dombås located on the Dovrefjell - with through
coaches from Oslo - to Åndalsnes at the seaside over the
beautiful Raumabane.

NOHAB diesel locomotive Di3 629 in the station of Stjørdal north of
Trondheim on 19/06/95. Locomotives of class Di3 have provided traction of
trains over the Nordlandsbane Trondheim-Bodø for a long time. Now they
are gradually being replaced by class Di4 and the (new) class Di6.

NSB Di 3b 642. Built 1959 by Nohab/GM as 41.02 for VR (1524 mm gauge) but not taken over by VR, so in 1960 this one and two others were rebuilt to 1435 mm gauge and sold to NSB. They have only four traction motors and a higher maximum speed of 143 km/h instead of 105 km/h, so these were used with express passenger trains. Regular service lasted until 2000. NSB Di 3b 642. The locomotive is preserved in its red paint applied since the 1980s. The front windows were replaced (previously they had to be protected by grilles to prevent damage by falling rocks or icicles on bridges and tunnels), and new bright headlights were installed. A very hard-earned photograph. I thought there is a way in the woods at
the side of the small town Hell, but the name of the village says all.
After some 2 hours of "jungle-fighting" i've found a good place (it was
about some 6-700 meters away from my starting point), and took the photograph.
At this place there are from day to day less possibility to see a Di3: train 479/470 is on holiday until 21st of August, after 10 th of June there are (officially) no freights with this type, just the passenger trains and the light runs of the Meråker-line are normally hauled by Di3's. Photo and scan by Ákos Horváth. Picture was taken on 24th of June 2000 between Muruvik and Hell (train 387 Trondheim-Storlien). Informations about our NoHAB-GM Foundation, the regular trains in Hungary with the NoHABs and up-to-date news about the current state of the M61's are always available at our NOHAB-GM site! The Di3,642 has just attached a sleeping-car to train 476 at Mo i Rana.
This train starts evenings from Bodo to Trondheim and the passengers from
Mo i Rana has the possibility to take their places in a sleeping-car heated
by a Di3 from 21:30 (train arrives at 00:14). This NoHAB is the locomotive
of the train 477/478. These two trains and train 479/470 will powered by
Di3's until 20th August 2000, after that they'll replaced by the new BM93
DMU's. Picture was taken at 6th August 1999.

NSB Di 3 643 with a passenger train on track 4 of some Norwegian
station. One of the famous EMD/NOHAB locomotives, still with the
protective fences in front of the windows, to protect from
icicles and pebbles on tunnel entrances (meanwhile these locos
have received new `bulletproof' windows).
