Due to the doubling of the Amsterdam-Utrecht line there will be a new station built at Amsterdam Bijlmer with 6 railway tracks instead of 2 and also the 2 metro tracks. Fortunately people have learned in the past and the new platforms will be very, very wide. <br /><br />
Here you see the underpassing of the new Bijlmer station. On the left side you see a temporarily underpassing which is very narrow. The new underpassing will be very wide when all construction works will be finished and will be integrated in the surrounded area which is a new place for people to go out. Here are a large cinema, the capitals football stadium and a music hall. On the other side of the station there is an enormous shopping area.
