Due to the large capacity problem on the Amsterdam-Utrecht line, which is only two tracks at this time, this line is being doubled to four tracks which will be ready in 2007. Also, there will be a new connection built, the so called "Utrechtboog" which will connect the Schiphol-Weesp line to the Amsterdam-Utrecht line. This will enable the Dutch Railways to run direct trains between Schiphol and Utrecht (and further).<br /><br />
On the photo you see the new connection being built by a large machine which can build the concrete parts automaticly i.e. there is no rail where it runs on.
