Museum railway VSM - The Netherlands Dutch Railway Society NVBS repeated an excursion that was made 40 years ago: Amsterdam-Alkmaar with a mail motor car (then brand new), by diesel to Hoorn and with steam to Medemblik. Museum railway VSM - The Netherlands Dutch Railway Society NVBS repeated an excursion that was made 40 years ago: Amsterdam-Alkmaar with a mail motor car (then brand new), by diesel to Hoorn and with steam to Medemblik. On the excursion 40 years ago diesel locomotives class 2200 of NS were used, this time locomotive 2530 of the Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij was used. Former NS diesel locomotive 2530 "The Bishop" is now owned by museum railway VSM (Beekbergen, The Netherlands). On Sunday 19 September it it ready to depart with a freigh train over the STAR museum line from Stadskanaal to Musselkanaal. Photo and scan by Marco van Uden
