RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands Diesel tram locomotive M.1602 in the shed at Ouddorp. This type of locomotive was used to haul both passenger and freight trams until all services were suspended in the late 1960s. Ouddorp, 17-04-2006 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands This diesel locomotive, nr. M.1651, was used until the end to transport sugar beet over the narrow gauge network. It is now used by the "museum" RTM as a shunter. Ouddorp, 17-04-2006 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands This looks like a "draisine" that is used to transport track maintenance workers to the site where they are going to work. Its number is M.1653. Ouddorp, 17-04-2006 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands The motor car of the 3-car tramset. It is numbered M.1700 and bears the name "Sperwer". Ouddorp, 17-04-2006 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands Now the sun really started to shine! 3-car tramset 1701+M1700+1702 stands at the "low" platform in Ouddorp. It looks like the diesel tram cannot stop at the (very) high platform that is used by the steam tram. Ouddorp, 17-04-2006 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
RTM-Ouddorp - The Netherlands The three-car tramset has just arrived back from Port Zélande after having operated the first public train of the year. This modern trainset was built for RTM, but it operated for many years on the Zillertalbahn in Austria. A few years ago it returned and was beautifully restored. The tramset consists of two passenger cars (1701 and 1702) with motor car M.1700 in between. This motor car has of course an engine compartment, luggage space and a small passenger compartment.
