Farewell to Hofplein and Zoetermeer line
On 2 June NS will cease operating the "Hofpleinlijn" The Hague Central - Rotterdam
Hofplein and "Zoetermeerlijn" The Hague Central - Zoetermeer ring line. These
lines will then be completely rebuilt for "Randstadrail" light rail operation.
25 May saw additional historic trains between The Hague and Rotterdam Hofplein,
and all trains on the mentioned lines could be travelled for free.
In the picture the "Blokkendoos" trainset at Rotterdam Hofplein. This trainset
consists of the 3-car trainset Mat'24 of the National Railway Museum and single
motor car "Jaap" of Hobbyclub Nedtrain Haarlem. This type of stock was a regular
performer on the line in the past.
