From 15th - 21st October 2005 no trains could run on the Den Haag Centraal - Gouda line due to engineering works. The 'Noord-Oost' intercity services (from Den Haag to Leeuwarden / Groningen and Enschede) were diverted via Schiedam and Gouda and only ran between Den Haag Centraal and Utrecht, where passengers had to change to regular trains. Instead of the usual ICM 'Koploper' EMUs, the diverted trains were run by IRM double deck stock. The picture shows the 8709 as train 700545 (Den Haag Centraal - Utrecht Centraal).
