One of the heaviest freight trains in Europe! Four locomotives class 6400 of
the Dutch Railways (NS) haul the 5400 metric tonnes ore train consisting of
German hoppers with automatic couplers from the port of Rotterdam to the German
border (Venlo), where two German electric locomotives will take over. Picture taken in Eindhoven on 23rd May 1997.

| NS 6485 in Geleen Lutterade. | NS 6486 speeds through Lage Zwaluwe with a coal train on 18 June 2008 -a scene from the past. The coal trains are nowadays all pulled by a couple of DBS 189s and most take the short-cut on the Betuwe-Route, skipping former cargo hot-spots like Eindhoven, Tilburg, Breda and Lage zwaluwe altogether. NS - The Netherlands Diesel locomotive 6462 is seen stabled in Amersfoort during the weekend. Normally many locomotives are stabled here on Sundays (mainly class 1600 and 6400) but today only two locomotives class 6400 were present. Amersfoort, 03/03/2002
