Bluebell Railway Open Day 1966: on display LBSCR Class B4 0-6-2T No.473 Birch Grove (Brighton, June 1898), one of the nine locomotives owned by the Bluebell Railway that are the sole survivors of their types. Bluebell_1966_No.2650. UK Heritage Steam 1960s and 1970s. Bluebell Railway Open Day 1966: on display NLR 0-6-0T No.2650 (Bow Works, December 1899. That number was one of six carried during its working life of almost 61 years: North London Railway: 76 and 116; LNWR: 2650; LMS: 7505 and 27505; BR: 58850. Worked its last days on the Cromford & High Peak Railway in Derbyshire, being withdrawn in 1960, moving to the Bluebell in 1962. roger.griffiths@hotmail.com

Having the distinction of being conscripted in World War One, the engine worked at Boulogne as ROD (Royal Operating Division - of the Corps of Royal Engineers) No.5027. Bluebell_1966_No.72. UK Heritage Steam 1960s and 1970s. Bluebell Railway Open Day 1966: on display was LBSCR Class A1X 0-6-0T No.72 (Brighton, November 1872), originally named Fenchurch. The loco wears the livery of the Newhaven Harbour Company, for whom it worked between 1898 and 1926, then becoming a Southern Railway asset. Renumbered to BR 32636 the loco finished its days working on the Havant - Hayling Island branchline until withdrawal in January 1964 and sale to the Bluebell. roger.griffiths@hotmail.com

Having delivered their passengers to Ravenglass for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Nos.1306 and 4472 took the empty coaching stock to Sellafield for stabling.
