Class 685 were very common Italian steam locomotives that could run at up to 120km/h. 391 locomotives were built between 1912 and 1928 and the last one was withdrawn from service in 1958. Number 685.068 is seen in the museum.

Only 18 locomotives of class 480 were built for the Brenner railway line by Officine Meccaniche (Milano) in 1923. From 1930 they mainly operated on Sicily until the last one was withdrawn from service in 1968. Number 480.017 is on display in the museum.

Based on these classes motor cars class ALe 790/880 were built with connections to the next car at one end (155x). Original motor car ALe 792.004 is on display at the museum.

Electric motor car EAiz 106 was built for the Milano-Varese-Porto Ceresio line in the 1932. This line was electrified at 650V DC with 3rd rail. In 1948 it was converted to the now common 3000V DC overhead electrification and renumbered into E623.106.

Class D342 were the only diesel-hydraulic large diesel locomotives built for FS. Ansaldo built 14 locomotives in 1958-1961. FS concentrated on diesel-electric locomotives and the last class D342 was withdrawn in the early 1980s. Locomotive D342.4011 is on display at the museum.
