K.K.St.B. 310.23, built 1911 by StEG as one of 90 of its type. The 4-cylinder locomotives with 2140 mm driving wheels were designed for express trains on flat lines, reaching 100 km/h. First used on Wien - Kraków, from 1914 Wien - Praha, later numbered 16 008, it went out of service 1956, used as a stationary preheating locomotive until 1960. After years as a monument it was restored to working order 1987 for the 150-year jubilee of Austria's first steam railway. Since 1999 it is based in Strasshof. K.K.St.B. 310.23. Class 310 was developed from the similar 210. Length limitations (due to small turntables), limited axle load and coal of low energy density resulted in a design different from the more common "Pacific" type, with a single axle in front and a trailing bogie under a large firebox. ÖSEK 52.100, built 1943 by Krauss-Maffei as DRB 52 100 (probably painted RAL 7021 black grey). In 1945 it went to JDŽ/JŽ as 33-044 (later probably painted black with red wheels) and used until 1974 in Serbia and Bosnia. In 1991 it was bought by ÖSEK (1. österreichischer Straßenbahn- und Eisenbahnklub). After a revision in Budapest (grey paint) it was back in service 1993 to 2006, based in Strasshof. Afterwards the boiler needed a revision and repair which was carried out by Interlok Piła (Poland). Since 2010 it is back in service, painted black (including wheels) like ÖBB steam locomotives even though it was never operated by ÖBB. ÖBB 97.208, built 1892 by Floridsdorf as K.K.St.B. 69.08 for the Erzbergbahn, based in Vordernberg. In 1956 it was modernized with a Giesl ejector. It went out of regular service in 1978, at the remarkable age of 86 years, and is maintained operational, though without its cogwheel drive. Pulling 2-axle "Spantenwagen", from a post-war rebuilding program of old passenger cars. Trains like this were typical for the Erzbergbahn passenger service for a long time.
