DSB MM 718, first generation of the electric S-Tog in København. Denmark's first electric mainline was Klampenborg - Hellerup - Vanløse - Frederiksberg, opened 1934. The first units operated with two power cars MM and a middle car FM, later a second middle car was added. In total 119 power cars (MM) were built 1933 to 1962 by Frichs, and 95 matching middle cars (FM) by Scandia. Each power car had four 120 kW traction motors and 76 seats, the length was 20.2 m, the weight 51 t and the maximum speed 90 km/h. The middle cars were 20.1 m long, had 93 seats and weighed 35 t.
