LBR - Ireland The Lartigue Monorail System was a very special type of railway. It was only operational in a very few places in France, and as the Listowel-Ballybunion Railway (1888-1924) in Ireland. A short strech has been reconstructed in Listowel, with a diesel locomotive (looking like a steam engine) and two passenger coaches. Passenger cars with cabins on both sides of the monorail. Balancing the weight in the cars is very important for a smooth ride. Listowel, 29-05-2025 Photo by Marco van Uden |
