D4H-866 entering with a train from Trai Mat.
From 1970, 3361 locomotives of type TU7 were built in
Kambarka (Udmurtia, Russia). Of these, 247 were delivered to Vietnam
from 1985 to 1988 where they have been originally used for various
purposes despite their low power of 294 kW, but most have been
withdrawn from 1998 on. 9 locomotives were converted for standard gauge.
Besides service on the Da Lat - Trai Mat line, a
few are still used as station shunters.
