In 1982 Hitachi delivered to ONCF eight freight locos for phosphate trains. They have the same electrical equipment as the E-1100, but have regenerative breaking to reduce electrical consumption. The body has been modified to look better. Two locos can run in multiple. On the 5th of June 2000 E-1204 passes Sisi El Aïdi junction with an empty phosphate train for Khouribga mines.
