EAR class 29 #2921, Nairobi Railway Museum East African Railways 2921 'Masai of Kenya', a 2-8-2 steam locomotive built in 1955, exhibited at the Nairobi Railway Museum. The 31 members of the 29 class were built for the East African Railways (EAR) in two batches, of 20 and 11 locomotives respectively, by North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow, Scotland. EAR class 31 #3123, Nairobi Railway Museum East African Railways 3123 'Bavuma', a 2-8-4 steam locomotive, exhibited at the Nairobi Railway Museum. The 46 members of the class were built in 1955 by Vulcan Foundry, in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire (now part of Merseyside), England, for the East African Railways (EAR). They were a lighter, branch-line version of the EAR 30 class, and worked from various sheds throughout the EAR system. In front of the engine is a small flat car #327 of Kenya-Uganda Railway. EAR class 59 #5930, Nairobi Railway Museum East African Railways 5930 'Mount Shengena', a 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratt steam locomotive, exhibited at Nairobi Railway Museum. Built by Beyer-Peacock in Manchester, England. Together with 'Mount Gelai', two locomotives of this class have been preserved at Nairobi. Built by Société Franco-Belge. The 29 members of the 60 class were ordered by the EAR from Beyer, Peacock & Co. The first 12 of them were built by sub-contractors Société Franco-Belge in Raismes (Valenciennes), France, and the rest were built by Beyer, Peacock in Gorton, Manchester, England.
