Type: Lithuanian diesel-electric mixed narrow gauge railways locomotive TU-2 0052 (Co-Co) at Panevezio narrow gauge railways locomotive shop . (Lithuanian railways company LG) gauge 750 mm.
First type TU-2 narrow gauge railways locomotives (750 mm.) appeared in Lithuania in the year 1958 replacing the freight and passenger service steam locomotives in Lithuanian narrow gauge railway. TU-2 locomotives became the first diesel locomotives in Lithuania railways system. They are used at present in passenger and freight traffic in narrow gauge lines for traction of freight trains up to 1000 tons.
Locomotive TU-2 was built in Kaluga locomotive works. Was building about 300 locomotives. TU-2 was used in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan. TU-2 was used at many children railways lines in ex-USSR. Photo: Zilvinas Urbutis. 2001-08-27
