06/05/2023: Open day at Pistoia DORS (Deposito Officina Rotabili Storici - Depot and repair shop for Historical rolling stocks), managed by "Fondazione FS". Fondazione FS Italiane looks after and manages the Italian State Railways’ vast historic heritage: it oversees a fleet of over 400 pieces of historic rolling stock, around 200 of which are in full working order. It also oversees the archives and libraries, both the Pietrarsa and the Trieste Campo Marzio Museums as well as some dedicated Depots (like Pistoia DORS). Supershiny beautiful restored FS "Ferrovie dello Stato" steam locomotive 741-120, from a Class of 1'D (2-8-0 Consolidation) train locomotives. Class 741 were rebuilds from the FS Class 740 with a Franco-Crosti boiler; it was the last class of steam locomotives introduced in Italy. The first locomotive was outshopped from the Verona Porta Vescovo workshop in 1954 and 81 machines were modified accordingly.

Italian National Railway Museum at Pietrarsa.
Class 741 was an efficiency-improved version of class 740, using the Franco-Crosti patent (one pre-heater next to the boiler). Locomotive 741.137 was built by Ansalso Genua in 1914.
