FP - Ferrovie Padane (now part of FER - Ferrovie Emilia-Romagna) Diesel engine Ln372 1 at Ferrara Porta Reno in 1989.
This is one of 3 engines bought second-hand from FS and formerly assigned to the railroads of Libya when it was an italian colony, whence the nickname "Tobruk" of this class, built with sand-filled double-sheet body sides to cushion firearm shots in case of war zone service. The whole class is now retired. Photo and scan by Jacopo Fioravanti (jacopofioravanti@katamail.com).
