FER (Italian private railway) diesel loco
Diesel locomotive FER 220 049 at Zagreb Marshalling Yard. The locomotive FER 220 049 has received a complete overhaul in Gredelj works in Zagreb, including new Caterpillar diesel engines, and completely new wiring. Also, the driver's seat has been moved from right to left; the locomotive has also received a completely new livery. The modernized locomotive was tested with a freight train (2000 t) at the Zagreb Marshalling Yard Sisak line; and on 4th October 2002 it was transported to Ferrara, Italy. The locomotive D343 2016 (with FS signs) is also clearly visible; and that loco went to Gredelj too. No other details about this locomotive are known. Photo: Toma Bacic |
