ETR.250 Arlecchino. Pictures taken at Bologna Centrale Station in the early morning of Sunday 03/10/2021. The recently restored survival example of ETR.250 Arlecchino ready to operate the innaugurational special train from Bologna to Florence (via the old "Porrettana" line) and then to Rome. The ETR 250, called Arlecchino (Harlequin), were built by Breda in 1960. It was a shorter, four-car version of the most famous ETR.300 Settebello. 4 Trains were built by Breda in 1960, those trains had a first-class-only, open-space layout, and one of the cars was used as a kitchen and baggage car. They were used until 1986, when three of them were refurbished and used for charter services. Those three were scrapped in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The surviving set, train no. 252, was restored between 2016 and 2019 and now, it is used for tourist trains. Photo by Guido Allieri (guido@allieri.com) - www.allieri.com
