Former Dublin and South Eastern Railway K2 Class 2-6-0 locomotive simmers gently as see awaits being taken for water before another turn of duty at Dublin's Amiens Street (Connolly) station on a "steam special". The locomotive is maintained by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland.

Former Dublin and South Eastern Railway K2 Class 2-6-0 locomotive eases her train of preserved carriages onto the platform at Dublin's Amiens Street (Connolly) station after a "steam special". The locomotive and carriages are part of a impressive fleet maintained by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland.

Former "Northern Counties Committee" Railway
Former LMS (NCC) WT Class 2-6-4T Locomotive No 4. Built 1947. Withdrawn from service in June 1971 No 4 has the distinction of being one of the last, if not the last, steam locomotive in revenue earning service in the islands of Ireland and the UK - out-living the end of British Railways' steam operations, on 11 August 1968, by more than two years. Pictured in August 1983 at the headquarters of the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland in Whitehead, Northern Ireland. No 4 is one of a number of preserved locomotives maintained and operated by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (www.rpsi-online.org/). Former LMS (NCC) WT Class 2-6-4T Locomotive No 4. Built 1947. Withdrawn from service in June 1971 August 1983 again and a rather poor photograph shows No 4 standing at the platform in Whitehead Station. Note the clerestory roof on the ex-Great Northern Railways (Ireland) carriage behind the locomotive. No 4 is one of a number of preserved locomotives maintained and operated by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (www.rpsi-online.org/).
