Station View - Bangor.

This view of Bangor station taken on wednesday 4th august 1999 shows the extensive work being undertaken on the £4.2.m convertion into a rail & bus interchange station. The middle siding line was removed around about the 13th of june 1999 while the right platform was taken out of service a day or two later with the canopy and subsequent demolition work being undertaken around about the 26th of june 1999.
The unit in the platforn is a NIR/Translink 8450-class DMU, No: 8459.

At Manulla Junction you can change trains from the Dublin-Westport Intercity to and from Athlone. The station does not have an exit, only one island platform.

The railway station of Cobh still stands in its original shape, but is now used as a museum. Trains stop a few hundred meters to the right, before the main roof starts.

Adelaide is the first station south of Belfast Great Victoria Street. There are some tracks for freight or work trains here too, but these are hardly used.

During rush hour the trains from Belfast only run to Larne city station, so you have to wait for the evening if you want to go to the end of the line... Left is the "Castle Class" train in service, on the right is a stabled train with motor car 8453.

When taking the train from Londonderry, you first have to cross the river Foyle (when departing from the city center). There are free bus shuttles between the railway station and the main bus station which is in the city center.

Only one track of Londonderry station is currently in use. The railway line follows the river for quite a few kilometers, a very nice ride.

Portrush station looks fantastic, but is no longer in use by the railways. There is now a small modern ticket office just behind this station at the end of the platforms.

Getting to grips with the northside

DART

From 31 July to sometime in September 2005, there is no weekend DART service from Dublin Pearse station to Howth / Malahide. Replacement busses will provide service between Howth and Malahide to the Pearse station, including Connolly. Monday to Friday, DART will be operating as normal (Greystones / Bray to Howth / Malahide)

Unknown station in the Republic of Ireland

Inside the IE/NIR Enterprise train first class seating in Belfast, heading south to Dublin Connolly Station. This train is pulled by Iarnrod Eireann diesel locomotives.

This is an unknown station south of Drogheda in the Republic of Ireland.
