It was only operational in a very few places in France, and as the Listowel-Ballybunion Railway (1888-1924) in Ireland. The museum is located in the old (normal, narrow gauge railway) goods shed at Listowel. Passengers from Limerick and Tralee changed in Listowel to the monorail train to Ballybunion at the coast.
