NI Railways - Northern Ireland As Coleraine only has two plaform tracks, the shuttle towards Portrush enters the station on the same track as the Belfast-Londonderry train after this has arrived. Coleraine, 10-09-2008 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |
NI Railways - Northern Ireland The diesel trainsets of "Castle Class" (8)450 are still in use today. These were only built in 1985 but used parts and especially the engine of older trains. Therefore they are incredibly loud! The 3-car trainset with motor car 8452 leading will shortly depart from Coleraine for the short run to Portrush. One of these trainsets runs the Coleraine-Portrush shuttles all day. Coleraine, 10-09-2008 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |

8400-series-inside at PortadownThis is the inside of an 8400-series DMU departing Portadown station for Belfast Central. With this series, the doors are opened by lighted buttons from inside and outside, and no windows to slide down on the doors, as compared with the 8000-series DMUs. This is the latest series, after the 8000-Series.
