Bécsi út terminus is the northerly end of line 1 and the connection with line 17. Line 1 runs with 3 Tatra T5C5K units coupled together and 4127 is the lead unit of the left hand set and 4073 is the lead unit on the centre track. Ganz 1310 can be seen to the right of the photo as a reserve unit for line 17. Photographed on Saturday October 25th, 2003.

Modernised T5C5 double-set at Moszkva ter. These cars - dubbed T5C5K - got a chopper built by Ganz-Transelektro (Budapest) instead of the original control system with contactors and resistors. From the outside they can be recognised from the dot-matrix route and destination display over the windshield.

Budapest trams 4104 (Tatra T5C5K2), line 61, and 4145 (Tatra T5C5K2), line 56A, at end station Hűvösvölgy, 2020-02-02. The ČKD Tatra T5C5 series (bidirectional, but only with one cab and usually coupled back to back in pairs) was built 1978 to 1984 in 322 units, modernized 2002 to 2004 with chopper control (then called T5C5K). Further improvements were made from 2010, especially regarding the door control. So the type is now called T5C5K2. |
