Budapest "Margit Híd" HÉV Station
Viewing the northbound platform of Margit HÍd HÉV commuter rail station. The platforms are quite low and entering the trains requires climbing up stairs. The HÉV is in tunnel from Batthyány tér to Margit híd. The rest is at "grade level" up to Szentendre, north of Budapest. At Batthyány tér, the HÉV is not very deep. It ends at a "head" station just under the street. The actual metro station requires a downwards escalator. HÉV trains allow BKV tickets as long as they are valid for the Budapest fare zone. Anything further afield to Szentendre requires a supplemental ticket. Taken Wednesday 3 January 2002 © 2002, 2006 Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |

Vörösmarty Tér Station in Budapest
This is a south-facing view of the Vörösmarty Tér Station in Budapest. The train has left about thirty seconds prior to this photo. This is along the original Födalatti line from Vörösmarty Té to Mexikói Út. At the time, the Vigado building that is just to the right of the station, is being rebuilt and should be complete by 2008 or 2009.
