A remarkable picture of V42,527, shunting at Miskolc-Tiszai station. The last units of series V41 and V42 worked in the rolling stock of Miskolc. The last 5 V42s were withdrawn and transferred to mobile car heating units in the middle of 1994, except from V42,527 which is now stored as a locomotive able to work. The last service task of V42s was shunting and freight service on electrified industrial railways around Miskolc. After 1990, the industrial feright service was reduced due to the strong reduction of the heavy industry in this area, and V46s replaced V42s in the remaining service which leaded to the withdrawal of the whole Ward-Leonard series.
