This picture was made on the locomotive show for the 150th
anniversary of Hungarian Railway Transport, in Budapest, 13 July 1996. 256 kW diesel-hydraulic shunter for branchlines. 56 were built by Ganz-Mavag in 1972-1974, but only ~30 units are in service today. Photo: Peter Werner Groh (groh@ludens.elte.hu) |
MÁV diesel-hydraulic shunter M32 2038 at Mátészalka station (eastern Hungary), seen with a mail car. 56 of these engines were built between 1972-76, by Ganz-MÁVAG (Budapest). Only about 20 now remain. They have an output of 257 kW and a maximum speed of 60 km/h. In case the Bzmot units fail, such an engine might haul passenger trains in the Mátészalka and Szentes areas). Photo taken in August, 1997 by Ferenc Joó (ferencj@mkk.zpok.hu); scan: László Szita (szita@yahoo.com). |
