After 50 years Athens get back a tramlines. For the need of the Olympic Games two
tramway-lines are building. Together both lines will have 26,5 km line. For this
lines Ansaldo/Breda (Italy) built 35 new tram motorcars. Based on the "SIRIO" modell
of Ansaldo, the Athens tram have a lenght of 31,9 m and a capacity of 200 passengers
(50 seats). The first six cars are still in Athens and in a few weeks on a ready
part of the lines the first testdrives will started.
