Edessa railway station, Greece, winter 1995. Since 24.11.2003 the Thessaloniki-Edessa line
open again with daily 5 pairs of train.
Der Bahnhof von Edessa, im Winter 1995. Seit 24.November 2003 ist die Strecke von Thessaloniki bis Edessa wieder in Betrieb, mit 5 Zugpaaren täglich. Für die Sanierung der Strecke war sie im August 2002 ab Skydra stillgelegt worden. Die Weiterfahrt nach Kozani und Florina ist immer noch gesperrt und wird saniert. The ISAP (http://www.isap.gr) Eirini station is near the Olympic Games installations,
so it'll have a heavy passenger load
during the 2004 Athens Olympics. Most of the existing station is by now razed and only one
platform is accessible to passengers at the time the photo is taken. The station is
expected to nearly double track capacity for the 2004 Olympics, and the work proceeds in
a fast pace, despite the passengers being very inconvenienced.

Thessalian Railways, Farsala station, on the abandoned metre gauge line from Volos to Paleofarsalos, Central Greece, 10 May 2003. Farsala, a few kilometres away, is the only major population centre in the whole line.
