OSE - Greece Alexandroupolis port (main) station seen from the balcony of hotel Erica. Trains from Thessaloniki have to reverse for a few hundred meters to reach this station, as the line only runs directly towards Turkey and Bulgaria and not Thessaloniki and Athens. OSE - Greece Timetables in Alexandroupolis have been written by hand. Therefore it is rather complicated to find correct Greek timetable information on the internet! As you can see, some regional trains have recently been withdrawn by crossing them out. And note that according to this information train 1680 runs to Dikaia while it actually continues to Svilengrad in Bulgaria. Alexandroupolis, 10-10-2010 Digital photo by Marco van Uden |

This is the railway station in Alexandroupolis/Greece. Obviously, there is no much train activity at this time of the day, although there are large oil spots at one of the rail tracks.
