OSE 4201
One of the oldest existing DMU in Greece is 2AK-42001. The Peloponnesian Railways bought 1937 from the german factories Linke-Hofmann and MAN eight units. Later renamed in 4201 the DMUs cames to the thessalian metergauge line Volos-Kalambaka and nowadays it is owning by the EMOS-Museum-Railway. The local railway-fanclub saved the DMU from scrapping. Velestinon, 04.July 2003. Velestinon, 04.Juli 2003. Travelling from Larissa by train to Volos, you can see this old DMU at Velestion station.

OSE 4203
In the eighties the DMU 4203 and 4205 was still active at the Kalambaka-Volos line, making every day more than 600 km. With the arriving of new MAN DMUs in 1992 the two Linke-Hofmann DMU were withdrawn.

A closer view of 4203. If you are want to see, how 4203 looks nowadays, go to my little website: http://de.geocities.com/ose302/volos03/volos.html.
OSE 4205 or what is remaining
Coming to Volos, you see in the industrial area of the town on the old metergauges the withdrawn DMUs 4203 and 4205. Unfortunally, theese historical vehicles are in a very bad condition. Volos, 04.July 2003. OSE 4205 a picture at better days
Again an old pictures, from summer 1988. The 4205 DMU is waiting in Kalambaka for its next travel to Volos (162 km). What a different to the picture of this year.
